It’s easy to understand how Jan 6th is not the deal breaker the Democratic Socialists, apparently, still hope for. Even if you are not a fool. Hope this article helps.
Without condoning it, the why of Jan 6th is very understandable from this fool’s viewpoint. Maybe it is because we also foolishly show up for things, for people, we believe in. You can disregard everything else about the Jan 6th protestors, but there is no denying that their honest “belief” that our country is broken, and that Trump represents the solution.
There is also no denying, even as many still actively do (deny), that they were fooled, and acted foolishly. Fed lies and Faux lies by a charismatic leader, radicalized with the help of talk radio, right wing fringe groups like the Proid Boiz. Chants of “Stop the Steal!” leading them to believe they were defending democracy, when in truth they were dismantling it.
What this fool won’t ever understand is the failure of the left to pick on the FAKE ELECTORS as the breaking point. There was nothing sympathetic about those characters. And, if you look at Jon Stewart’s investigation on The Problem, the exposure did help change people’s minds. But it was short-lived, and if you bring up the subject now, instead of outrage, you get blank stares, changes of subject, “I don’t remember that happening”. Effectively dismissed by all sides to varying degrees.
It should have been poured down the throats of the prolateriate like a 7 course dinner with fine wine and a fun desert by the left… instead of a side dish. But of course… even if they had, chances are people wouldn’t have cared and followed the circus red tent anyway… but at least they would be informed, and I cannot help but think that an informed citizen is better than an uninformed one.
So, Why focus on Jan 6 and not the Fake Electors?
Granted, the man in horns and chaps was eye-catching, but dangerous? That kind of goes out the window when, at the request of his mother, he got his special allergy diet and clothing in jail. Now the guy roaming the halls threatening to drink blood from Nancy Pelosi’s skull was more dramatic and colorful, and possibly dangerous, definitely unhinged. But still…
Why, how, did the Jan 6th protestors (and their prosecutions) get more Attention than Fake Electors? Granted, Jan 6th got more attention from both the left and right media, while I’m pretty sure that the Fake Electors, was glossed over by the right. Then, importantly, Jan 6th rioters, got more attention from the justice system – making them into mini celebrity Martyrs.
But nothing about Jan 6th is as dangerous to our democracy as those felonious fake electors… Well, until the left made them sympathetic.

It should come as no surprise to no one that the left has a plank in its eye when trying to figure out its dilemmas… It has been happening since the right wing went low and Kerry was swift boated. And yet the left consistently misses the point, and solution over and over and over again.
Even to a fool, talking to people before and after Jan 6th, it is obvious that a lot people – on both sides, are still deeply unhappy with the state of our country. That even after voting for change, that our government, our country is still going in the wrong direction.
The echos of their unhappy complaints sounds very familiar. It might surprise some that both sides sound eerily alike if you really listen. They may have different ideas on how to fix things, on who/what’s to blame, but there is a consensus between regular folk coming from “opposite sides” as to what the problems are. Everyone dislikes corporate money in politics. Radical Judges. Decaying infrastructure. They worry about housing prices, the broken education, health and justice systems. Endless wars. Over the top regulation and taxation on the working class, while the rich enjoy their spoils, under-taxed and over represented.
The list of problems Americans worry about goes on, and on…
But what you don’t hear, is worry about Jan 6th. Not even after the pardons (Unless you are standing in a DNC propaganda echo chamber)
Why should people hope the Dems will be different now?
With few exceptions, the “left” leadership remains tone deaf and largely ineffective. They still dance to the clanging tune of corporate interests, while ignoring the chorus of the people. Chuck.
Oh, they promise change. They make fighting noises, but then they leave the status quo, bypassing opportunities for any meaningful change. Often backing down to make deals on something to sweetens their pot, or gain power. While their constituents are left with the bitter crumbs. Instead of tackling the trillion dollar issues, they make $35 compromises, and claim progress.
Can they really be so deaf, so out of touch, that they wonder why the people are unhappy with them?
Make some changes, please.
There is an old sayin’ “Lead, Follow, or get out of the Way”.
Give us Medicare for all. Give us real jobs, and affordable housing. Reign in the justice system. Give priority to a food supply chain that gives us fresh and local and is tailored for small ranchers and farmers. Stop strangling small business owners with regulations. Stop slanting the laws towards the greed of industry, and exploitation of the poor, and start putting the people you are supposed to represent first. Over politics, over profit. Give us REAL democracy, not corporate democracy
Or get out of the way so we can find the path to get these things.
