Today I am struck by the way things change, yet always stays the same. People still are fooled so easily, and crafty framers of power still capitalize on it.

Some it would seem, will cater to the base greed and fears to cloud the vision and discernment of even usually clever folk. A crafty leader who positions himself to the right of the poor man’s ear and tells him that it is John you should fear, and be suspicious of, not of I, who picks your pocket with your consent. It is Juan’s fault that you have low wages, not I, who suppress labor rights in the free market.

Others leaders will sit on the left (but not too far, it seems to me) and present an outraged face over the unfairness and promise a better life, but when it comes to making it so, sell a different tune altogether. One that sounds suspiciously in sync with the the leaders on the right.

All the while leaders of both the left and the right l, are making merry war for profit with the treasures of the kingdom. Dividing the wealth equally amongst the thieves, while throwing crumbs towards the needs or well being of the people who they stole the treasure from.

Stolen, one coin at a time in the name of the common good. Where the poor pay or face the consequence, but the wealthy are somehow exempt, hiding behind corporate faces.
