I read it on the internet, so it must be true.
My first thought was, whose money was it, really? My second thoughts are that is true about congress profiting on their office. BUT IT HAPPENS ON BOTH SIDES. Sometimes they write books about it. Occasionally they have their spouse buy property based on insider knowledge. Sometimes they make deals with the Russians at the cost of their constituents. Sometimes they start wars based on lies for oil companies, and then profit off of it through supplying that war with faulty equipment and overpriced services.
Corruption does not only happen according to the color of your lapel, the only colors corruption sees are dollar bill green, or gold. You would think people would have figured that out by now.

The Folly
The truth is if they really wanted to curtail waste and fraud they would start with lobbyist and defense contractors.. We would finally get a transparent audit of the books for the pentagon. Not Social Security recipients where fraud is almost non existent.
They would look into what happened to the bail out money given to banks and oil, the corporate welfare. The Buy Backs. They would look at the Big Agriculture monopolies and the subsidies given to Big Ag. Subsidies, that were originally put in place to help family farms. They would look into the use of tax payer funding for medical patents that pharma profits off.
Yes, there are plenty of things they could have addressed that would have helped Americans and saved tax dollars in meaningful amounts. .
But that wouldn’t be good for business, now would it.
And everyone makes big fuss about the side show, while the main show goes on in the shadows. I still maintain that Trump/Eli are not the root problem, and they are definitely not the cure, unless you really do want an oligarchy who does Nazi salutes.
They are symptoms of a deep unhappiness of the American people, but I fear that we will have to wait for another few years to resolve that unhappiness, if there’s anything left.
